Just got a email from Rick Schwartz one of the organizers of the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conference announcing that he has opened registration for the show for $995 for the 1st 35 people that register.
It is the domain name show I have regularly attended since its inception and I already bought one of the 35 discounted tickets.
Here is the entire announcement:
“”””T.R.A.F.F.I.C. 2012 is coming in October! If you presently don’t plan to attend, give me 5 minutes to possibly change your mind starting with a $995 registration fee available to the first 35 people that register and why your attendance could be life changing as that has always been our goal. Folks have been coming for 8 years because they do significant deals, have a good time and make money. A very special group sharing very special Information.
Beginning at Noon TODAY we are opening Registration for T.R.A.F.F.I.C. 2012 at the Ritz Carlton in Fort Lauderdale. October 7th -10th with our Cabana Networking starting on Friday, October 5th. Our agenda? We have none, YET. However, as we have done 22 times before over the past 8 years, we will let it all unfold throughout the year. We will work each day until October to ensure that T.R.A.F.F.I.C. 2012 will not only be as good as our last shows but even better and will continue to break new ground. We will do it all right in front of your eyes in a very transparent manner. As usual, we will tackle the toughest issues we face and share thoughts on how to navigate through it.
T.R.A.F.F.I.C. 2012 starts with the best networking cocktail party in the Industry, and we do everything we can to facilitate business by bringing the “Biggest and Best” together in an atmosphere and venue conducive to doing relaxed business and wrap it up in the perfect location. Then we make it easy for you to do deals. What we sell is YOUR success and T.R.A.F.F.I.C. moves the ball forward for all who attend. Our only goal is to further the agenda of everyone who attends and that force pushes our industry forward in a meaningful way. T.R.A.F.F.I.C. is not just a show. It’s the only MAJOR Domain Industry show run by domainers for domainers. T.R.A.F.F.I.C. has always done things differently and will continue to be there for you and your business because T.R.A.F.F.I.C. MEANS B.U.S.I.N.E.S.S.!
Sponsors continue to be rewarded for understanding the mindset of domain investors and providing tools and hopefully breaking new ground to assist them. That is why they roll out so many new offers at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. It comes down to one word. RESULTS! T.R.A.F.F.I.C. MEANS B.U.S.I.N.E.S.S.!
T.R.A.F.F.I.C. is more affordable than ever, and in many ways a true bargain when you measure what you can accomplish as opposed to the dollars you spend. You will never waste a minute of your time or a dollar of your money! T.R.A.F.F.I.C. aims for perfection and that is why we partner with the Ritz Carlton. They stand for “Excellence” and so does T.R.A.F.F.I.C. But we have fun too and our parties are legendary.
The $995 price is in effect for only the first 35 tickets sold. We know things are tough so the early bird price is not a budget breaker if you act now! One can still pull off this entire trip for well under $2000 if you spend wisely. The first step is getting a ticket for nearly 50% off of what the price soon will be. More tickets are sold at $1795 than any other price point. Go figure. T.R.A.F.F.I.C. will be beefing up its food menu and you will get Brunches fit for a king. At night, the dinners and cocktail parties will be over the top with open bars and more food than you dare to eat!
But even when the price goes up to $1295, your ticket will become more valuable as the year goes on. Plus, for those who miss the $995 price point, we will give you a $100 room credit when you book your room at the Ritz by Friday, January 20th. The codes to book your rooms are below. If you want any of the Suites or Residences, it would be in your best interest to reserve them as soon as you can as there are only a handful to begin with and they were all sold last year.
As I stated before, the walls of the Ritz Carlton will not get any bigger and we will cut off registration at 360 attendees.
The only way to book a room at the Ritz is via the link code here. We have booked the entire hotel and you will see on their online reservation system, those dates are sold out. The entire hotel is reserved for T.R.A.F.F.I.C.! Why? Because T.R.A.F.F.I.C. MEANS B.U.S.I.N.E.S.S. and even the Ritz Carlton now knows that!

What do I expect coming our way in 2012? I expect one of the best years we have seen since 2007 after a very bumpy first quarter. Domain names have finally taken center stage on Wall Street, Main Street and Government. Eventually even those on Madison Avenue wrapped up in their budget issues and egos will be figuring it out.
Those end users that gloss over their domain choice early on will be forced to revisit the issue if they expect to survive and thrive. I think the biggest unknown is whether domainers have the PATIENCE to wait up to 3 more years for this pie to be baked. Many don’t and that is what will propel some great bargains during this time.
Amazing to see just how large this industry has grown around us while the number of core domain investors have not. Much of the domain industry is run by folks that know very little about domain names and almost nothing at all when you talk about INVESTMENT domains. There is nothing wrong with that other than domain investors not knowing it exists. The face of this industry today looks nothing like it did just a few short years ago. It has gone mainstream and they are feeling their way in our direction as they turn ignorance into knowledge and power. The knowledge many of us run on. Breathe. Have proven. Now it is our time to help fill in the blanks for them. The timing is right because they search for what we already know.
So like always, T.R.A.F.F.I.C. will chase tomorrow and be there before anyone else knows the day changed. Just 1 step ahead to insure that you too are 1 step ahead.
We hope you will join us and once again be part of history as opposed to reading about it. If you are a domainer, this is a participatory sport. This is serious business at a serious time. 2012 will be as good as you make it and T.R.A.F.F.I.C. is here to help get you there by bringing the best of the best together to make decisions and do deals.
Thanks for your time! Howard and I along with Howard’s wife Barbara and my wife Alina and the support of Ray, Kim, Danny and Chris will do everything in our power to make your time worthwhile. The last thing we would ever do is waste your time or your money.
T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Means B.U.S.I.N.E.S.S. and B.U.S.I.N.E.S.S. Means R.E.S.U.L.T.S. Results means coming to T.R.A.F.F.I.C. is not an expense. It is an investment in yourself that can pay dividends for a lifetime.”””

Gimmie a break! Another year, another over-hyped show.
If you want real change and end-user participation – charge $50.
That’s $900++ someone can save and spend on a domain name at auction instead.
Put a greater effort on sponsor $$ for support, not ticket holders. I’m in marketing for a major media company and we do it all the time.

Last year’s Rocky Mountain Domain Conference only cost $45.
While we were out there in Denver, we stayed with family.
I even won an iPod Nano from Name.com
What a blast!

See you there, Mike – the $995 price was too good to resist 😀

A Real thrifty guy like me got my tickets
But seriously folks TRAFFIC is THE industry show.
I will go as far as to say that anybody who nay-says this show – does not know anything about any business – not just the domain business.
How many wankers on this thread just sit around and wait for the phone the ring – good god friends

” they suck ass other than cool people, good drinks and pretty girls, and nice hotels, the auctions are disorganized with unvetted names and poor outsider attendance, fraud etc, some of the parties are ok, the food is mediocre mostly, and some of the people need to be jailed and have their asses kicked, but I enjoy every bit of it”
There’s your ad right there.

Went to TRAFFIC for the first time last year. As soon as I saw this email from Rick, I signed up for the 2012 show.
I should also mention that Mike Berkens was one of the nicest and smartest folks that I had the opportunity to meet. Everywhere I turned, I felt like I was meeting another pioneer in the domain industry. Saved a lot of money staying at the Marriott down the street although I am sure it is much more fun to stay at the Ritz!!
