According to a press release today, a company called Next Jump, which operates an employee rewards and loyalty programs, launched OO.com today.
“”OO.com is a one-stop shopping destination that gives valuable, proprietary WOWPoints™ for every transaction”
“The site delivers best-price offers on everything from travel to dining to household items. ”
“With deep experience in building trusted rewards programs currently used by more than 100 million people, a cornerstone of the company’s success and profitability is its loyalty program built around the best points technology in the world. OO.com now brings wide consumer access to the WOWPoints network, which features more than 30,000 top brands and major retail partners.”
Certainly oo.com is an interesting name.
Its short, memorable but how many people will type it in as 00.com?
Yes this site is using the double letter O but many people seeing the site advertised in print ads might type it in as double zero which is owned by another company?
I’m not even going to go to typo’s for O.co.
So OO.com is an interesting name but one with possiblities of confusion from the outset.
Maybe the company should have gone with another two letter combo which would not be subject to confusion.
What do you think?

Noticed another 2-letter shortener KW.com for KellerWilliams.com Realty today.
Sure the shortener makes it easier with mobile devices – but it is doubtful Facebook will go down the “O.co” road making FB.com their new brand – no different than Keller Williams.
OO might have failure written all over it. In this case I think you need something long first (pun intended) before you can shorten it up for more “rapid” use.
They may be the first one to use a URL lengthener – maybe up to 11 inches (I mean 11 letters) – like DOTBOMB2011.com

OO is very cunfusing with 00 (zero zero) and I would hate my business to be confused with a stinking restroom. For those now confused?
00 (zero zero) is used as a restroom sign in several country’s in Europe.

Interesting name, I like it, but it’s confusing and the risk of misinterpreting the O’s as zeros is too high. It looks like a swollen version of O.co 🙂

OO stands for Overwhelming Offer(s)

Candidly – where all the money is at is not bottom feeding the best deal on something – because with that comes dangerously low margins and poor service. I just do not see sustainability in these best deal, bottom feeder models – US consumer wants cheap – yes – but they will also pay a bit more for service.
The better business is actual distribution rather than selling someone else’s distribution services – a lot of work – but a lot of money. I did it with bar code scanning and printing equipment in a previous life.

“O O”, sounds like trouble… 😉

@James
You beat me to it – and yes should this business start to fail – it will be reffered to as –
“Looks like another bad quarter for Oh Oh”

Any ideas how much it cost them to buy it?
Its not much good for seo, not that great for billboard, print, radio or word of mouth..looks like 0.com, sounds like oh.com, but Its nicer than o.co IMO

From where I come from “oo” means “yes” in English and is pronounced as “o-o” as in short o’s and not “ow ow” 🙂 just sharing

OO.com is going to ruin Overstock.com’s ideas. Specialoffers.com or Offers.com would have been best for them as a name.

Hideous looking website. Why do all these sites choose copycat BABY BLUE backgrounds? Barf.
my global website of links and amazing domains NeonEasy.com TheOn.it NO-OK.com neoni.SI says

$1,000
but received $500 because that was paypal limit over there.
This thread is about short domains. Besides the only thing that excites people on these forums is when its about .CO
so do not erase admin

oooops.com (4) if your’e a new TV ad and oops, ooops & ooooops.com has long been taken, after a quick glance at the TV ad I ended up at a “slightly familiar” parking page….or three lol 😉
oops, maybe I would have chosen a different domain before spending big bucks on a TV ad….never mind, they find it eventually.
