The Live DomainFest auction from Barcelona will be held a week from today, on June 8th at 1PM EST.
Pre-bidding is opened on SnapNames.com.
There are 18 domain names that have a reserve of $100K or more, so as we usually do we are opening up the poll so you can pick which domains you think will sell from this group.
Since there are 18 domains, we are allowing you to pick up to 3 domains you think will sell, but you have to make ALL 3 picks at ONE time.
You also can pick the “none will sell”.
If you have any comments as usual you can place them below.
We will publish our picks and pans for the auction over the weekend.
100per100.info (100% information) and MORE says
many of them
social.com
data.com
suv.com
MHB says
Social is listed at $5MM +++
So what is the price you would pay?
$5M $10M $20M?
100per100.info (100% information) and MORE says
“$5M $10M $20M?”
hard to answer, its value depends from the final use, so…
$1M if used for a blog about social networks
$10M if used for a social networks’ ads agency
$100M if used by Google to give a better name to its +1, Buzz, etc. 🙂
100per100.info (100% information) and MORE says
just having enough money (that I haven’t) my choice would been to buy data.com
it has an incredible number of uses … online storage, computer memory eCommerce site, cloud services, online backups
Dan says
Hi,
Data .com with ease..IMHO
HorseRacing .com ~ it is a “bit” to generic, if that’s possible, but I worked at the major Thoroughbred race tracks in So, Cal for almost 14 years…heart pick 😉
With that said… It will NOT make 5M
EyeCream .com
If J&J or P&G is “in the house” or someone as smart with their understanding of generic domains names and how to properly use them ~ “Sold”
____
BTW: @ “MHB” any travel plans 😉
Best,
Dan

Great names. Buy it now (and then some!) reserves. As with most auctions these days, this is really just a showcase to try to get buyers negotiating and I don’t expect any of these 6+ figure domains to sell during the auction but some may get negotiated/closed at some point based on exposure.
Bryan Gray says
NONE is my vote. I don’t think any w/ $10k reserves or higher will go. This is some of the most insane reserve pricing I’ve seen ever.
Twitrbackgrounds.com? Really? I wouldn’t pay $500 for that one and I’m a whore for most any non-porn niche that will monetize.
IMO – best chance is KQ.com or Bolt.com and I highly doubt that. How many complete auction failures do we need to have before these auctions change format dramatically or go away all together?
Snoopy says
The auction is once again full of overpriced names with silly reserves, eg eyecream.com $500,001 – $750,000, how the heck anyone other than the domain owner think that is a good starting point?
Personally it wouldn’t surprise me if non of those 18 sold, most likely of the 18, creditcard.ca, if the reserve is at the low end of the range, fares.com maybe some chance.
MHB says
Dan
off to ICANN Singapore shortly
The Social-TV-Network says
Social.com is a $25mm domain to an end-user with a business plan & platform that can be readily monetized.
Social-TV is the next big paradigm shift that most will be utterly unprepared for – should be a fun ride.
Good luck to the seller.
Dan says
@ MHB… Very nice, have a great and safe time.
If you ‘just happen’ to run into Frank… Enjoy your time together. 🙂
Hope you get something you like…way below what you expected…if your going to be in any kind of ‘buying mode’
Best,
‘D’

Doesn’t really mean anything. The fact is nobody is gong to pay $25million for this domain. I think into 7 figures would be a very good result for it, it is the right time to be selling a name like this, hopefully the owner can seize the opportunity that exists today and do a deal.
The Video-Social-Network says
@Snoopy,
Social.com will sell at this auction for $15mm+
Don says
An outside chance of data.com selling. With all the cloud stuff going on that would be my guess. That will be the only one that sells if it does. Others are priced way to high.
Don
idomainmedia.com
DR.VEGAS says
Only DATA.COM makes reserve.
SUV.COM is late to the party…by about a decade.
HORSERACING.COM is late by about 4 decades. 😉
SOCIAL.COM is a seven figure domain…just not 5m.
AIRPORTS.COM is a six figure domain…low six (100-200k)
Brad says
Most of the reserves are too high. I think Bolt.com has the best chance of selling when considering the reserve prices.
Data.com also has a good chance, depending where the reserve falls in that range.
Brad
adam says
ouch 41% pick none.
what are your picks Mike ?
Anunt says
Are you guys smoking crack?
None of these names are going to sell…reserve prices are too high!
social.com … are you guys serious…this is NOT even worth $100k
Anyone here want to bet me $10k…i say none of these domains will sell
If you think one of these domains will sell without them lowering the reserve price, i will give you $10k
lets bet…put your money where your mouth is
lets put $10k in escrow.com for this bet.
andy kelly says
@anunt
Given the track record for the outfit running this auction i’d be very careful about betting $10k on any of their listings closing (genuinely or otherwise) lol
SL says
skills.com would be really good for a new jobs listing site.
Or as a supplemental advertising vehicle to monster.com et al.
$100k seems very reasonable.
MHB says
Adam
My picks are coming over the weekend
David says
Agreed with most…none of these will sell.
That said, my favorites are data.com, social.com, and skills.com.
Jon says
HorseRacing.com, Social.com – need large existing end users to get the price.
Data.com – may sell to small startup, particularly with financing. Seems like a no-brainer at say $200K/year.
SUV.com – existing car dealer can totally build it up into a large site selling SUVs at discounted prices and shipping them anywhere.
Bolt.com – very nice brand for a startup. Very rare LLLL verb/noun. Priced right for sure, particularly financed at say $30K/year.
Skills.com – very nice brand and priced right for employment startup.
Jayjay says
re – Quick Poll: Which Domain(s) Priced $100K+ Will Sell At DomainFest?
I counted 19 🙂 anyway here’s my selection
kq.com <– LL.com's a sound bet here, price is reasonable
skills.com <–high end user potential, employment/logistics
flightdeals.com <– high end user potential, flight/booking agencies
I'm eagerly watching flightdeals.com and hoping history will repeat itself considering the recent 700k sale of runningshoes.com Commercially viable two tier com's are starting to shine and are definitely the new gold rush today.
ricks says
Actually the price on KQ.com seems a bit unreasonable. I remember sedo (or greatdomains) had an auction for a bunch of ll.coms. It was well advertised and all of them had a 100k reserve. None sold. I believe XQ.com couldn’t sell at 100k in Toby Clements newsletter a few weeks ago. I think he subsequently reduced it to 85k and a deal was done.
If the seller was serious, he would have a 50k reserve and let buyers duke it out. 100k is a shot in the dark.
LS Morgan says
Skills would be my guess in the 100K+range, but Bolt is strong.
Unless there’s a language variant I’m just not seeing, Houses.co.uk at no reserve seems very nice.

@ Anunt
“Anyone here want to bet me $10k…i say none of these domains will sell”
No…But,
I will bet you 2k that you will never pay back any of the money, you basically ‘stole’ from 4-6 domain buyers in 2005…including 2k from me.
I am the one that got you ‘banned’ from the “dnforum’ & then “namepros’ banned you.
“Banned: uglypeople.com ~ Account Terminated” (May 2005) ~ dnforum.
____
Returned In 2007 to Dnforum :
“Uglypeople aka Anunt Patel strikes again !”
Quote:
“Just a heads up and reminder. If you have received emails offering friendster and youtube typo’s it is from a former member ( now banned ) who ripped off several here with myspace typo’s.
“He is known to have and openly admitted selling ( myspace ) typos AFTER being served with a C&D thus why he is banned.
There is no reason he isnt doing the same now. Please be careful and hope to save you a little heartache.” End quote
___
I could post the whole story as well from the thread from at “dnforum” where you said in a reply to one of my many post on the subject:
Quote: ” I had to screw you, or I was going to lose 20K” End quote.
Several people asked you many tines….if you had received any “C/D’s” On any of the domain names… and you lied to all of us ever time, as you had received “C/D’s” on All the domain names…just days before you sold them.
__
Instead of offering to bet 10K about these domain auction sales…
Why don’t you do the ‘right thing’ and pay the people you “HAD TO SCREW” … back their money?
How about just sending me back my 2k via paypal? …no “escrow” needed.

Andrew Rosener says
Skills.com is the only domain in that list with a chance of selling I think.
Maybe Data.com if price is in the low end of the reserve range.
KQ.com – well, that’s a story for another day…
Dick Shwatz says
I think twitrbackgrounds.com is going to sell because it is most affordable and we are in a recession. Also twitter is a hot commodity and backgrounds are going to be the next big thing in the social networks fiture.
Sanchay Kumar says
Very good names on the poll; however, I do not believe any will sell at the current reserve prices.
Auction sites says
Indeed a great list . Way to go!
