In a real head scratcher, the domain name hopeforhaitinow.org sold for $7,100 on NameJet.com today.
There were 7 different bidders at $2K or over.
Hopeforhaiti.com is the site of a non-profit group that says it has been raising money for Haiti for over 20 years and they are showing a TM on their site.
“, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for the Haitian people through education, nutrition and healthcare.”
I don’t see any value to this domain other than for another non-profit to raise money for Haiti in which case they probably wouldn’t have bidding on NameJet or paying $7K for the domain.
So it appears like this one is may be trouble.
Let hope that someone did not buy this domain to play off the traffic of the charity or worse. and hope it winds up in the proper hands.
The domain name Vertis.com sold on Namejet.com for $10,302
There is a Vertis Communications,
There is also a large company known as Vertis Group.
In any event the domain is getting traffic according to Compete and Alexa and is an interesting buy.
In a few other sales this week:
1223.com $6,400
PoolTables.org $3,500
Snap.Org sold for $3,200
Pedo.com $3,100
BankAccounts.net sold for $3,677 we own the .com version of this domain.

Sandybeaches.com $2,400
Fog.net $2,217
whitegold.org $2,000

Gnanes says
The court will just have to send the new owner to Haiti to volunteer for 2,000 hours.
SL says
If Grant Aldrich is reading this, try emailing an offer of $2k for bankaccounts.com. That’s more than a fair price for such a mediocre domain.
(Seriously, it’ll be different this time, trust me.)
Shane says
Check out the PR rank of hopeforhaiti. The purchaser in not going to try and raise money, they’re going to raise PR of their other sites.
Gnanes says
I only see PR2. There’s domains with high PR on GoDaddy expired auction.
Shane says
I’m sorry I was wrong. I thought it was a rare PR 7. I must have been thinking about another domain. My apologies. In that case, terrible purchase.
Michael Marcovici says
From what I can see it has a PR 7, some google servers return 0, most 7, however given the backlinks from many PR 9 pages it can be assumed PR7 is real.
page howe says
any sense of these are all expired names or when possible if namejet reserve is the losing bidder can you note it a aftermarket resale.
i appreciate the info you provide here mhb.
thanks
