WIPO To Enter The Domain Seizure/Take Down Business?

February 17, 2011 by Michael Berkens

According to IPwatch.com WIPO maybe the newest player wanting to get into the ever expanding, actually quite rapidly expanding,  business of Domain “take downs”and Domain Seizures.

According to the article the World Intellectual Property Organization may create of an international “notice and takedown” system for alleged online trademark infringers.”

“This will be followed in a few months by a separate proposal for a “notice-and-trackdown” article requiring internet service providers to divulge information about online counterfeiters so they can be gone after.”

You can check the full article out for all the details but the issue is heating up all around the world no more so here in the good old USA where 84,000 innocent domains were seized last week. (more on this tonight)

Until we send notice to the government they will continue to take and take and take.

Already they have run out of money but continue to grab more and more.

At some point there will be riots in the street here in the US as well.
