2 big auctions are set to close tomorrow and neither have many winning bids as of time of publication.
SnapNames.com is holding the extended auction from Domainfest which ends tomorrow Feburary 17th at 3:15pm EST
There are around 500 domains including all of the domain names that were in the Live Domainfest auction.
As of time of publication these are the only bids and all have meet reserve:
uzy.com $7,310
ipharmacy.org $3,050
miss.me $2,050
internetmarkets.com $1,050
whoyou.com $1,050
gnome.net $525
mermaids.org $325
As of time of publication there are about 125 domain names out of the 200 in auction which have bids.
Casino.co has the highest bid of $12,345 but has a reserve range of $100K+
Bank.co has the second highest bid of $9K but the reserve range is $50k-$100K.
News.co currently has the third highest bid of $6,500 and its reserve range is $25K- $50K
Mp3.Co is currently the most active domain with 24 bids. The domain is currently at 1,000 Euro and has met reserve.
At the time of Publication there are 8 domains that have meet reserve including:
Touchscreen.co $900
minijuegos.co $725
Fotos.co 260 Euros
Sexvideo.co $110
Slip.co $110
There’s always last minute bidders. We’ll know tomorrow if the .co auction was a success or failure.
It seems like 9 domains have reached the reserve, but they are rather low value (with exception of mp3.co). The highest of them are:
mp3.co 1.000EUR
touchscreen.co 800USD
minijuegos.co 725 EUR
While Sedo has another day to go, I am still very surprised with the low number of bids.
I guess its too early to flip .co’s
I predict 5 or more $250K .Co sales from this auction – smart, big money never comes into the action until the last half-hour.
I was on Bido today – they’re starting to pick up alot of decent bids on the ccTLD’s…its nice to see some life over there.
Btw., anybody knows of a non-Columbian website running on a .co domain?
I’m sure there will be a few nice sales in the Sedo Auction. There are names with some pretty low reserves as well like universities.co and pizza.co. There are also a few in the $500-1000 and $1000-5000 ranges that haven’t met reserve but I look for most of those to sell.
To be honest I think some of the keywords in the $10K – $24,999 reserve range are higher quality than many in the $50K – $100K+ range.
Brad
@Brad
I agree. I also think there are a few in the under $5000 area that are pretty top quality.
“Btw., anybody knows of a non-Columbian website running on a .co domain?”

Or perhaps it is too late
Will find out in a day…………
@Good Domain Names – retouch.co for one. They will be using that as their main URL soon. I should know – I sold it to them
@gooddomainnames
Just visit : http://www.opportunity.co (official)
Many live non colombian website there “showcase”.
Sedo-Update:
Shop.co reaches as first from the BIG NAMES the reserve 20.000 USD!!!
@Aniol,
Shop.Co will sell for $300K+ in this auction…at a minimum.
I expect LasVegas.Co to sell for $500K+ and Casino.Co for $650K+
It looks like the .CO auction is starting to warm up right now.
@ coCASINO.co
Dream on.
Brad
I am pretty sure LasVegas.Co and Casino.Co will sell for low-middle $XXX.XXX price, and I am quite sure these domains will sell as well:
pizza.co
solar.co
hipoteca.co
shop.co
creditcard.co
downloads.co
movie.co
billetes.co
bed.co
@Brad,
Watch and learn, young jedi – casino.co & lasvegas.co will each go over $1/2-million
I believe the era of domain auctions is over. We just negotiated a 20K deal for a small dotCom name to an enduser. In an auction, I doubt if it would have pulled 2K.
@David,
What was the domain you sold for $20K?
This statement came out of SEDO regarding their .CO auction –
“All the good names are taken,” said Jeremiah Johnston, chief operating officer of Sedo. “For small businesses, this is a chance for them to upgrade their domain names.”
Sedo has launched radio ads in a new pitch to promote their auction, which aims to outshine woebegone extensions like .net and .biz.
“Those never caught on,” Johnston said.
I am all for hyping your .CO auction, but a little reality check here.
1.) There are 13.5M .NET regs
2.) .NET is the second most popular gTLD in the world
3.) There are 300,000+ new .NET registered every month with a net gain of 75,00+ per month
I don’t think SEDO trying to throw a well known, credible extension under the bus is great for marketing. It looks pathetic IMO.
Brad
@Brad:
“I don’t think SEDO trying to throw a well known, credible extension under the bus is great for marketing. It looks pathetic IMO.”
Well, Mr. Calle did exactly this. Was it “pathetic” of him in your opinion?
modest domain names = modest prices
the best is News.co that sounds like News Corporation … the Murdoch news company
@coCasino.co
Fine with me. I own LasVegas.us
I would prefer to own that city it its native ccTLD instead of the Colombian ccTLD anyway.
Brad
@Brad,
I don’t rank .net in the top 5 extensions…times have changed, my friend.
TOP 5 Extensions:
1. .com
2. .tv
3. .co
4. .org
5. .me
.net is either #6 or #7…fighting for that #6 spot with .cc. I see .cc being top 3 within 5 years, for obvious reasons and with a little help from the search engines.
I would not pay fifty-cents for a .net, but that’s just me.
@Brad,
LasVegas.us, huh? Nice
@coTRAVEL.co
Because of NDA I can’t say, but I will tell you it was a very long tail Geo dotCom.
Burbank.CC
You would seriously put dotCC above dotNet? DotTV and dotCO above dotOrg? The highest selling dotOrg is Poker.org for $1,000,000 (last year). It will be a long time before any TLD besides dotCom touches that. How soon people forget dotMobi. During its heyday, dotMobi had people crawling all over it (and this was when the economy was cranking). If anyone dared to criticize it you had the dotMobi Nazis swarming on you in a NYC heartbeat. No one seems to remember that now.
@ David J Castello

THATS …
cause Billy Bob and his Ucle are hiding in the Auctions shadows
and are keping artificaly the reserve LOW,
so THEY can have it and Turn it around and secretly flip it later.
Think about it, the nerve of any Auction/Broker to tell YOU
to keep the RESERVE LOW … cause
if its cherry, that’s the price it will be stolen for.
To Auction House, Broker Bullshiters , Corporate Shills
Domainers Are Suckers!
That’s probably why I see a lot of sales already this year on my non-auction site. Seems folks want it when they want it.
Very very strange auction, I think many last-second bidders are out there. It will be a great deal if someone buys a bunch of these domains at that prices. One could be the .co king :P, not that it is such an honor, but it’s all about marketing and developing the right way.
Nice pick about touchscreen.co I think the owner has done a great work about reporting past sales, probably that’s why it has already met the reserve!
the question is :
how many of those bids “under reserve price” are from other .co players?
Knowing darn well there is no obligation, in additon it appears to me there is but 3 o 4 palyes on each of the names…
the interest of rather lack of is Not a suprise at all, all of those names will become soon “hot potatoes” a la .mobi
I one who firmly believes that the real “gold” are the .COMs. Just think back in the past when “first” toll-free numbers came out. What toll-free numbers are as rare as hens teeth? The 800 numbers of course. When people think “toll-free”.. 800 always come to mind. When people think of a domain name what TLD comes to mind?
I always expect 866 or 888 for any new stuff that comes out.
Will be interesting if one day .com is viewed as old or an antique
“If anyone dared to criticize it you had the dotMobi Nazis swarming on you in a NYC heartbeat”
Now days it’s the .Co Cartel you have to worry about, Lol.
Cartel definition from Wikipedia: It is a formal organization of producers and manufacturers that agree to fix prices, marketing, and production.
Today is what counts. I have offers for up to $100K on .COMs. Companys like that would never invest that much in anything but a .COM. For a lot a domainers and investors this is a serious business not to be taken lightly. There are life changing domaining opportunities today that I think will be harder to tap into as much in the future.
And yes, as soon a the “big” ones go they will be listed.
I couldn’t find anything about the .co auction on the cointernet.co site.
They will not get any money, but would indirectly benefit if some of the
best names were bought and developed/start receiving high traffic.
someone has emailed me an offer of $500 for BREAKOUT.CO
But I think it is worth $15,000
what do you guys think?
I want some of that Kool Aid.
EXPECT PHONY SEDO RESULTS:
Sedo Results will be stuffed with phony .Co punks
shill bidding when they cant even afford a six pack…
THE RESULT tomorrow will just be the wannabes griping
to the raft so they don’t drown in there own BS.
“The No Pays” at SEDO will be a record breaker HA.HA,
SUCKERS YOU LOST! … GAME OVER!
Wannabes that will NEVER be)
Assume the position… LOL,LOL,LOL
.CO domains are now the hot new trend for shorter URL’s article:
http://www.pccebu.com/co-domains-the-new-hot-domain/
Hello gang, wow seems like I got my quota in today contributing. Yeap I believe in giving, winning and truth.
To Landon yes you are correct in what “some” people do that actually is a minority. However here is a last sale I did on Sedo for a domain that was ALL dashes! Im in the us and the buyer is in UK. The domain? R-I-D-E.COM
The “real” lossers are the nay sayers. Off to the poor house they go. Ya gotta be positive and deal with ONLY positive people and you will have success, love, happiness, etc. et. etc.
Just wanted to show even dash domain buyers are out there!
@ Robert
Auctions.co sold for $15,000. Why would Breakout.co be worth that? Seriously…
Brad
@ Karl Jackson
To Landon yes you are correct in what “some” people do that actually the majority.
——-
Yes! I Agree, it is pathetic.
@Brad
BMR.CO also sold for $15,000
Here is the Sedo radio ad.
If I was in charge of marketing the .co’s at GoDaddy or any other registry, I would price
all of the .co’s and .com’s at the same price, that way if you can’t find a .com you would be
more likely to take the .co rather then gamble 30 bucks when they return to their original price. It would then add millions of .co’s to the internet and become more widely accepted.
Yes, but competing against the .Coms with a .CO in the “serps” would be major to consider too in as much as all you see is .coms rankingfor the most part.
@Alan
You are absolutely correct.
.CO must price them the same price as the .COM
Otherwise registration is going to slow down.
It is better to skin many sheep over and over again than to kill it.
One think SEDO does need to do is prefill the login fields.
I would be bidding 5 x times more if i didn’t have to god damn login everytime I had to bid.
SEDO prefill the login fields like ATT does it and like Godaddy does it and you will get 5 x times more bid.
I think Sedo and Internic sold 1 Mil+ in domains last week. You would think Sedo had enough webmasters on payroll to make logging in a little more effiecient. Maybe soon hopefully.
@ Robert Cline
I would be bidding 5 x times more if i didn’t have to god damn login everytime I had to bid.
———————–
So there is one of the SHILL’S bidders confessing right here and now …
James Kim is your real name …
So SHILL lets see how many you end up owning, (winning) NONE!
Karl here before I go to get rest. One of the reasons I sale a steady amount of domains as I said before in a previous post is because I own my own site that is Not an auction. And yes I am on Sedo too, but most of my sales come from my own site.
I believe 2 trends are beginning to shape up. Number one, a lot more domain buyers rather hit a “buy Now” button and purchase out-right and number two they definitely don’t want shills inflating prices on domains they want so they are choosing normal domain websites where they can make offers, negotiate or buy now.
@ Robert
Being such a .CO fan, and with this once in a lifetime opportunity to bid on so many premium generic .CO names, it will be interesting to see which ones you end up winning.
Keep up updated…
Brad
Sedo Update:
Interesting enough spanish keywords get most bids:
mp3.co 25 (well, abbreviation)
fotos.co 24
minijuegos.co 22
horoscopo.co 16
videojuegos.co 15
Best spanish keywords in the auction:
hipoteca.co @ 1100EUR
fotos.co @ 650EUR
billetes.co @ 320EUR
Currently on (standard) auction at Sedo:
mens.co, 2 bids, $650
consumersearch.co, 1 bid, $1000
rofl.co, 1 bid, $200
smartoffice.co, 1 bid, $300
solarheater.co, 1 bid, $350
hbb.co, 1 bid, $100
modena.co, 1 bid, $100
kualalumpur.co, 1 bid, $300
dublin.co, 1 bid, 1000 GBP
jointhearmy.co, 1 bid, $75
Sedo Update:
love.co reached the reserve price and is @ 20.000USD
when i search for
“Sedo auctions” (without the quotes) in Google
Zoop.co is 9th in my list
nice job Chris
Casino.CO is at $40,000
Estibot values coCASINO.co higher than Casino.co
@coCasino.co
“Shop.Co will sell for $300K+ in this auction…at a minimum.
I expect LasVegas.Co to sell for $500K+ and Casino.Co for $650K+”
Great predictions there Nostradamus.
Brad
@Brad,
Casino.Co could still get there – $1,000 at a time.
more kool-aid…
so much for the .com is a typo.
Really and truly poor results , low bids very few bidders (most had 2 guys) , not a suprise I say even much lower results all around then .mobi in it’s best days.
The casino bids seem shill-y …
In additon they are not sold till they are paid and change hands.
down the hill now…
@domo,
As much as I hate to admit it, your take on the casino bids makes sense.
I got to see a 60,000 bid on casino.co that was immediately canceled by Sedo (closing the auction) , whatever the reason (most likely fake or shill)
Good for them .! to do the right thng.
I saw that too…wow…
I just hit refresh – the auction is still going – top bid is $60K…don’t know what happened a little bit ago.
smelly stuff.
If it was reopened.
Auction is over – $60K for casino.co – didn’t sell.
I missed it, any idea how many sold ?
FAIL
http://www.thedomains.com/2011/02/17/co-sedo-auction-nets-around-150k/
As anyone may see from all my previous post it is the .COMs that sell, sell sell.
Quite possibly many people did not realize GoDaddys Super Bowl commercial regarding the .COs did not fair very well.
Anyway I agree with Aniol’s post that is was interesting to see that most bids were on the Spanish domains. With a little luck maybe I will sell VisasNorthAmericanas.com “It translates to American Visas.
no It doesn’t…
get a better dictionary…
(north doesn’t exist in spanish)
I don’t understand people posting their names in desperation…
Not desperation by no means my friend. I just sold one Today for $25,000.
My Spanish is not the best and translation was from Google. However I
appreciate the heads up. I will ask my amigo what he thinks.
The reason I added the domain in my post is because I felt like it.
