I think he will get a nice price on this domain but I thought Flippa was a strange place to list this name.
DNLingo says
Why Flippa and not Sedo? Not that I have anything against Flippa, I have always wanted to know the best place to sale domains and I always see the record sales taking place at Sedo. That is strange.
Tony says
Doesn’t Frank Schilling own Linkz.com?
Gnanes says
it’s good that he listed it as private offers. Dirt.com is listed as public auction. $3 million price tag.
TLD says
He’ll be lucky if he gets $150k.
Link.com would go for $500k. 4 times the search volume for [link] than [links]

Thanks for the write up and appreciate all the comments.

Your welcome.

Agree with TLD
Guy’s had it for years…and couldn’t come up with a viable money-making plan (other than a seemingly random blog)..
Link.com (more brandable, more potential uses) is worth more.
Anyway, he’s got $150K worth of publicity already…he just wants to put the feelers out there
Highest bid (Flippa or domain auction) will be in region of $ 100,000-150,000
Anything higher is wishful thinking from the scrubs (who always want to out-do one another by giving higher & higher appraisals with their fantasy wealth)
Jeremy says
So basically he’s not really selling, he’s just seeing how much he could get for it.

Dear readers,
I would like to confirm that the domain is definitely for sale and it will be sold within a reasonable period of time. However, it will not be sold today. 🙂
I am very proud of my accomplishments in my career and what I have tried to do with the domain. I have diligently worked on many projects of the last few years and have put substantial time, effort, and investments into the domain, but competition is very formidable in the Internet world. Anyone who has ever developed a business on the Internet knows this to be true.
Snoopy says
The owner has been listing it for sale at auction houses and forums and asking what should be done with it for at least 5 years. If that name sells I’d be shocked.
Rich says
Dear readers,
This is the first time, since I first registered the domain in 1993, that I have officially announced the sale of Links.com. The name will definitely be sold.
As most professional domainers realize, it does take a significant amount of planning, preparation and time to sell a domain of this type. To provide some perspective, homes of similar value in this economy may take a year or more to sell in this economy. Commercial property sometimes takes multiple years to sell.

I look forward to it actually selling, in what time frame is it going to be sold?
coMOVIES.co says
@Rich,
Good luck with the sale. It’s worth a million, at least, IMHO.

Dear Snoopy,
I think that it is clear that we are in the midst of very challenging economic conditions which makes it difficult, if not impossible, to predict the length of time that it would take to sell any asset. I think that the current real estate market provides some clues since commercial brick and mortar realty property is no different than virtual Internet property.
I greatly appreciate all the well wishes from the readers of this blog.

Dear coMovies.co,
I very much appreciate your well wishes.
In many ways, selling assets can be quite stressful. On the other hand, it provides me the opportunity to interact with extraordinarily helpful and supportive people such as yourself and all the other readers of this blog – including and especially MHB who kindly wrote about this latest effort of mine. Many thanks for your kind comments. And wishing everyone of very happy and successful New Year.

They may be willing to pay a premium as they have an interest in Links as a brand name.
