A new entry has come into the alternative to parking space promising better content and highly targeted adverting for domain holders.
The company Post Time Media was founded in 2005 and is based in Aspen Colorado.
According to a press release issued today:
“Post Time Media Inc. has spent five years developing a content platform that can deliver highly targeted information and advertising — both hyper-local and hyper-topical — from any site on its network to any other site on a constantly updated basis. Domains once dormant now have the potential to become vital and vibrant sites — featuring high-quality content — that monetize with no ongoing cost once they are launched on the Domain Driver platform.”
“Post Time Media, describes itself as:
“One of the leading blogging and social media companies”
The new Content Factory program announced today is:
“An initiative that allows domain investors and developers to move beyond merely “parking” sites with a monetizing Content Factory program that automatically delivers updated content and targeted advertising without human intervention — and facilitates tight integration with social media like Facebook and Twitter.”
“I couldn’t be happier about bringing this capability to domain investors and developers at a time when they seem to be searching for alternatives to domain parking,” said Post Time Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael Conniff. “Once we throw the switch, this baby runs on its own, updating content and advertising on the fly. The Domain Driver can breathe new life and greater monetization into domains for developers regardless of their holdings.”
Post Time pioneered the content and advertising concept over the last five years on Aspen Post (aspenpost.net), and is now deploying Domain Driver across 1,000 hyper-local and hyper-topical domains with the word “Post,” including the national flagship United Post (unitedpost.net).
“Before founding Post Time Media six years ago, Mr. Conniff had been a content pioneer in the online industry for over 25 years.”
“He was the first full-time employee ever in new media at NBC; the lead designer for Citicorp Global Report, the first online international news service; and the lead consultant for Reuter TV 2000, that company’s initiative to bring video to the desktop.”
“Mr. Conniff has also been the designer and executive producer for X Ice, a joint venture with the NHL New York Islanders; the first interactive information system for fans at MCI Center; daily sports content for Oprah Winfrey’s Oxygen Network; and one of the first-ever wireless news services for Motorola. In addition, he has also founded and managed three news services in his career.”
“To bring this kind of content and advertising capability to domain developers is a dream come true for me and for all of us here at Post Time Media,” Mr. Conniff said. “As a large holder of domains ourselves, we have faced the same issues of updating and monetization that everyone has to deal with. I can’t wait to get Domain Driver into the hands of developers in the domain industry.”
It’s going to be a whole new world — and a much better one at that..”
This company would seem to be joining the space of site like Epik.com, whypark.com and rapiddomainbuilder.com which are looking to alternatives other than parking

I think that a serious Parking Company must pay renewal fees for every single domain it accepts to park in its portfolio. Failure to pay this minimum, leaves such company open to criticism. Whether it’s a new or old parking company. If the parker decides, it could screen the domains it parks before accepting them, but the minimum a domain owner should get is the renewal fee for his domain, or the parker could go to hell.

Not that impressed really.. All of their sites are powered by WordPress… Probably WPMU. They made a few custom “tweaks” to it and as for monetization… It’s nothing but adsense.
The best one in this content generation space is smartname.
Prosper says
To bad they offer no real figures, no substance besides them wanting to be the company that takes over the post-parking era. They need to show us some real #s instead of hyping themselves, which happens to much in this industry.
The company that can bring advertisers together in the masses will be the winner. Without advertisers, there is no ad competition, leading to weak payouts for publishers. Google has this locked down UNTIL some real competition enters to arena.

This sort of thing has always struck me as dangerous. We have evidence galore that mass, scalable development with feedburner’ish ‘content’ is disliked by G and they are actively working to squash it (Epik, anyone? BANS? TLA’s?).
One -(x) value inserted into the algo- based on whatever universal code infrastructure is in play with these things- and it all gets deindexed.
Deaindexing = death.
We know that G uses domains as a relevancy anchor in terms of SERP arbitration, so does this blacklisting now impact the domain itself? Not a big deal if you got there with SuperMesotheliomaLawyersOnline.net, but no way in hell I’m finding out with anything decent.

…excellent place to make money… then spend it without need to travel… 🙂

Sounds pretty good and there’s definetly a huge void waiting/needing to be filled but will the almighty Google monster let it happen ???

Not so sure about those site examples making any money though.
Also he needs to show more real examples on narrow subject domains, like CatLitter, com. 🙂
Has he got that kind of domain covered for this?
SL says
I’m confused. So is the name of the company Domain Driver? Or something to do with the word ‘post’? Domaindriver.com doesn’t appear to resolve so maybe it’s the unitedpost.net domain?
It’s hard to get through the uberhype in the PR but, if I’m reading this right, it appears that the difference between ‘it’ and the umpteen other parking/dev sites is that banner ads, etc. will be shared across the network. Anyone know for sure?
And, of course, that it will be run by the most magnificent man ever to grace this fine earth.

I’m searching for the site and Google only lists TheDomains.com posts on the company. What’s the site address?

oh hallelujah… jesus has finally come to domaining.

Really…25 years? I seem to remember the commercial internet being a mid-90’s creation.
Beyond that…the aspenpost.net site appears unwilling to pop up.
I’m skeptical as it is even before these little flubs.Call me when you actually have something.

@DR.VEGAS – Internet years are like dog years 😀

no comment from me, here in the “Comment” section. Wait, I just made a comment.

I wondered about the 25-year thing, too, since web didn’t evolve until 1986, and it didn’t become commercially viable until the mid-1990’s. But there was technology to transmit code and messages from one computer to another using an accoustic coupler, before the web and the first domain names. Maybe that’s what they mean by 25 + 6 years, which puts the time frame around 1979.
On another note, I’m very curious to see how all of this will produce ORIGINAL content for the plethora of domain names that may be developed on this platform. Certainly a solid option is needed, but the hybrid-parking-dev model at WhyPark.com and at Epik.com seem to be the only short-term answers to evolve recently.
RapidDomainBuilder.com doesn’t even look like it’s ready to go, yet.

I’m Michael Conniff, the CEO of Post Time Media, and I’m happy for the chance to address any and all of the questions above. I can be reached at 970-618-0172 or at michaelconniff@yahoo.com and welcome the chance to talk more. Thank you for all the references to Jesus and the Savior. I’ll take my religion where I can find it.
First off, Dr. Vegas: yes, there was an online industry before the Web. I was the first full-time employee in new media at NBC — and that was in 1981. Earlier that year I was fired by Link Resources (IDG) for bringing the company online. So it’s been almost 30 years since I drew my first online paycheck and then got fired for making it happen. You could look it up.
Though I know we seem new to the domain industry, we’re not — we’ve actually owned in the neighborhood of 1,000 domains, give or take, since 2006. Domain Driver, the subject of the press release, was the missing link. It took five years to arrive a a place where I think we have something to offer the pioneers in the domain industry. We don’t have a magic bullet: we just have a dynamite system that can really help.
Of course, there’s nothing like ORIGINAL content — and nothing better than user-generated content. For over five years, with Aspen Post, over 100 bloggers have produced over 20,000 pieces of original content. So we know something about how to get that done. What we have done now is figured how to get ANY content, original or not, from point A to points B, C, D, and so on.
Take the example of cat litter from above. Yes, we can actually identify any stories about cat or cat litter from virtually any source and pull them into our network dynamically and automatically — to set it up once and then walk away from it and watch it update forever. At Post Time, we’re also more than happy to create original content of the highest quality about cat litter, should the need arise.
I think maybe the biggest difference between us and the parking companies is we’re a CONTENT company called Post Time MEDIA for a reason. We want every one of our sites to be the very best it can be using the best possible sources, with the more original content the better.
I know you’re a tough crowd, but I welcome the challenge of working with us. If you think what you’re doing now isn’t working, why not give us a try?
best, mc!
