Although the auction doesn’t close until later today, bidding on the domain name Belly.com has already hit $50K.
However the domain has not hit reserve.
So far there are 3 different bidders on the domain since $34K.
Personally I think $50k its a pretty high number for the domain not to have hit reserve in an auction which appeals to mostly a wholesale industry
It will be interesting to see where this one winds up and if the high bidder hits reserve.

I’m amazed the reserve is above $50k for a domain like this…!…Be fascinated to see what the high bidder – paying this kind of cash for it – actually does with this domain.
Gnanes says
It already has hit 65k and hasn’t hit the reserve. I think the reserve is in $xxx, xxx range. Sedo bin is at $250,000.

Even more intriguing is what the owner will do with belly.com?. How would he develop it, and monetize it more importantly!.
Shane Cultra says
I thought it had hit the reserve at $50K but was mistaken. I agree with Gnanes that it may be $100K. I think $75K is what it’s worth but that’s just my opinion
Danny says
It’s a perfect weight loss domain. Also, there’s been a movie and a rapper named Belly too – though to this point there’s not much PPC action for the keyword ‘belly’.
Josh says
@Danny, no it’s not and if I have to explain why my head will explode.

NameJet is just amazing. Too bad alot of auctions don’t get paid for.
Sure it’s a great domain, and someday will make some end-user very happy, but at recent live auctions I find it unlikely it would even get a bid with a starting price of $50k
NameJet is the only auction house IMHO that’s prices seem to be unchanged from the previous industry standard.
I thought it was perhaps because people thought all the domains there were expiring coz exporting domains always get more than they would at a standard auction (coz everyone knows if you don’t buy the domain at an expired auction then someone is going to get it. It’s not like you can wait and buy it next time if it’s expired auction). But at this point the base of buyers seems pretty well aware of which domains are not “expiring”. The whole NameJet Reserve thing is a bit of a giveaway.
