The Domain Name MTS.TV just sold on a Sedo.com auction today for a whopping $33,700.
The auction had 3 bidders battling it out through the $20’s and $30’s before closing at $33,700.
Its one of the higher priced .Tv sales I have seen in a while.
At first blush a lot of domainers might not understand As to whom would want or pay anything near this much for a three letter .TV domain.
However there seems to be at least 3 large communications companies in different parts of the World named MTS.
MTS.ca is a Canadian communications company that offers wireless, data and on demand TV and a product called “MTS Ultimate TV Service”
Another possible buyer is a company in India which launched something called the MTS TV service in April of this year that allows Video On Demand Services over the Internet.
Finally there is a cable and broadcast company in Russia also called MTS.
Anyway a great .TV sale, congrats to the Seller and the buyer

Mike,
I been getting offers/inquires daily for .tv names, some very strong. Most of the good offers are coming from outside the US where .tv is really taking off. Exciting times for .tv. I am not seeing this in any other’s except my spanish .com which I got 10 years ago.

Could also have something to do with MTS TV for I Phone, I will be interested to see who the winner was, i wasn’t aware of the Russian MTS, i know Russia Today bought RT.TV for $62,500 so, who knows.
Great sale for a LLL.TV anyway, i have also noticed many lll.tvs being taken this year by big broadcasting groups.
Great sale regardless of who bought it, congrats to the seller and buyers.

Russia.com sold for $1.5 million roughly one year ago if memory serves. I just typed in Russia.com and it goes to a Godaddy parked page. WTF is up with that? Wasteful…
