Broadway Joe Namath is one of those iconic athletics that even non-sports fans know.
When it came time to launch his own site, Namath went with a .TV.
BroadwayJoe.Tv launched about 2 months ago and already has over 9,000 monthly visitors according to Compete.
BroadwayJoe.com which is operated by a stuntman named Broadway Joe Murphy has no compete ranking and an Alexa Rank of 22 Million, so far there hasn’t been much traffic leakage from the .com to the .tv
As a former Jet in the NFL and the quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide the site contains his views on those teams and of course a store where you can purchase some Joe merchandise.
Interesting that he chose a .TV domain but the site does contain a lot of video.

I’m sure with as much money as he invested in that beautiful site design he could have a much better domain, but probably not quite enough to make a decent offer on Joe.TV (parked) or did he even think to?
Possibly another case of the public not knowing their way around the aftermarket.
The posts refer to Joe in the third person, he’s unlikely writing anything himself so .TV makes perfect sense for a video blog. Sites like this are going to get a big boost in traffic once they are more accessible for televisions soon.

…but just because broadwayjoe.com is already taken and used by another Joe

Joe.TV (parked)
yes, joe.tv is better… send a mail to Joe… maybe, he don’t know that it is available

Just because he knows football – does not mean he know anything about the .com Internet space – the brand of the internet.
And what up with JoeNamath.com ?
According to the USPTO the “Broadway Joe” Trademark states the following:
“BROADWAY JOE” identifies the nickname of JOE NAMATH, a living individual whose consent to register is of record.
Broadway Joe Murphy may have the .com – but why did he name himself Broadway Joe – he may be stumbling on his next stunt

The Television Platforms will be “Inviting” sites, domainers, etc.
Consumers will be lucky to navigate with their Internet@TV IR Remotes.
The current devices being shipped (stealthed in BluRay drives) have about 12 Major Platforms. Twelve, not 12 million. The major “brands” will be all the consumer sees.

.TV is really picking up more steam. I just sold Vans.tv to Vans Shoe Company, got offers on England.tv, Spain.tv, Religion.tv, Europe.tv, Horoscope.tv, Actor.tv, Single.tv, UT.tv, HU.tv, Ohio.tv, Utah.tv, Moscow.tv and about 20 others in the last 2 months, In addition of selling 11 other .tv for a better than 200% ROI. I am not here to brag but I been in .tv since 200 and domains sinc 1997 and I will take my chances on .tv. I still own 90% .com but I see .tv the biggest upside by far in the next couple of years. Time will always tell.
Also, watch up if Oprah goes with Own.tv which she owns to promite that site. They will creat big end-user awareness. As always, time will tell.
Thanks, Jim

@AVE4,
”
The new generation of vISPs will decide what the consumer sees.
Example: WEATHER – What TLD do you think is used ?
”
Is this the same reason why .mobi bacame a huge overnight success with mobile devices ?

The platform vendor (i.e. OS) may have a lot to say about what WEATHER their mobile users see.
If you connect a…
Samsung BDC5500 Blu-ray Player – 1080p, 1920×1080, Internet@TV, BD-Live
…you may be surprised to see what “Brands” are shipped with the units.
