Rick Latona says
The extended auction should put up real numbers. I have a lot of leads. We had no big sales today but there are quite a few deals in the pipe. It’s going to be a long week of negotiating.
Sunny says
Where do you see the inventory of extended auction? I tried on Latonas.com and couldn’t figure it out.
Shaun Pilfold says
Shame about the technical problems … I guess that’s why Murphy’s Law exists. Good luck in the Extended Auction.
Rick Latona says
Sunny, it’ll be published and announced soon.
BullS says
Well, things are looking up except for the technical snafu-but s*hit happens.
Anyway, everyone has fun and that the bottom line!!! so please stop bitchin about the weather, the food, and the downtime. Think of all the people in Haiti that would love to be in your place right now.
Puckett Myers says
I can’t think of a better person to run these auctions than Latona, so just imagine someone else with the same tech problems but poor at organizing everything and totally botching every aspect of the auction.
I’d say this was just a small, unwelcomed glitch in the grand scheme of things. Life moves on. 🙂
dcmike77 says
well done rick. you’re acutions are always the most exciting, fun, and professional. cheers
Kevin says
Major domain sellers still won’t lower their out of sync reserve prices to the reality of the current market so we see these kinds of auction results again. Buyers want deals right now and most sellers refuse to give them, which is why so many great domains go unsold.
MediaWebPlus.com says
There are lots of internal connections and politics in accepting domains to the auctions.
I have sent a list of domains and non of them were accepted and while i was watching i had to track silly and non killer domains going to the live auction and i am not surprised with the results at all.
They have to make low reserve prices and match it with good domains. Not junky ones as most of the inventory that we have seen it with this auction.

General Latona is the best man to overcome these tough times.
I’m not surprised to see these low domain sale prices.
just read the newspaper…
This week stocks suffer their worst week in 10 months
in 20 seconds on 1/12 over 200,000 people were killed in Haiti, people now contributing their money & time to charities
Oil Prices $75-$80 a barrel, record cold temps this month translating into record heating bills
Political unease/insecurity
Britain raised her terror alert to the highest in years
Ponzi scemes causing wealth destruction
Housing prices countinue to drop while foreclosures increase
Anxiety
Unemployment 9-15% the real unemployment rate is 12-20%
The Fed – Bernanke explicitly denies any Fed culpability for inflating the housing bubble

Rick,
With a lot of respect- Why it will be published and announced soon?
Why not a few weeks ago?
Daniel Dryzek says
Nice to see ccTLD as a top sale at the auction.. 🙂
M. Menius says
While I wasn’t at the auction in person, I watched it online, which is always a treat. I think the domainer conference auction format has grown a bit stale over the years. Which is no knock on anyone. It is what it is.
Domain brokerage, cold calls, solicitations of interest to potential end users is the best avenue, though obviously a challenge. Rick alluded to having ongoing negotiations with variety of interested parties. I believe this approach tends to yield bigger payday for the upper echelon domains.
Damir says
Nice results.
$65,000 Fly.co.za – Great $$ – okey domain name
Trik says
Hey Nidal Elkadr,
You should share your domain list that you submitted to the auction.
I’m sure everybody would be interested in seeing it!
steve dowripple says
Great outcome for Rick! When will he be having his next auction and how can I get submit some of my domains?
Trik says
Just go to Latonas.com or send them a email at auction@latonas.com
Stephen Douglas_Successclick.com says
To Nidal:
I’m with Trik on this, had to scroll through other comments before I was going to ask the same thing Trik did:
Let’s see a sample of your ten best domains you submitted to RLA that were rejected. If I think they’re good, I’ll promote them on my blog at http://www.successclick.com. If they’re weak (not worth over $500 each), I’ll pass, and that’s where your chances for fame or shame will stand on submitting your ten best here.
Of course, this is with all due respect to Em-B’s allowance to print such domains here.
