A domainer has launched a new platform to sell your domains on.
BestDomainsWebsite.com was launched today as joint business venture of Howard Neu, of T.R.A.F.F.I.C., and Danny Pryor, of Rodan Media Group.
People or companies wishing to sell domains can set up a free account, then submit up to ten domain names per submission, to be listed for sale on the website.
Domain names for sale are currently categorized into 20 groups and may expand as the sales platform grows.
One of the unique features of this domain sales site is that buyers and sellers of domains can easily communicate with each other on a private message board for the smooth and rapid transfer of domain names, after a sale is consummated.
The site also allows sellers to upload screen-shot images of their domains’ sites, so investors might better see the potential of the domain name.
The site charges a 10% commission to the seller and handles all escrow services.
The site accepts credit cards and paypal for payment from buyers and will hold the funds in escrow until the buyer has control of the domain before disbursing the funds to the seller.
Unlike other Escrow.com which has a $5,000 credit card transaction limit, BestDomainsWebsite.com, has no such limitation, allowing buyers to better finance their purchase of domains using their credit cards.
The site will also act as an escrow agent for private transactions.
This marks the 3rd site Mr. Neu has launched since November. Howard launched InvestingFunds.com and MalpracticeAttorneys.com in November 2009.
We wish Howard and Danny the best of luck with the new venture and I for one will be submitting some names for sale on the platform in the next couple of days.

i think the idea of limiting the number of domains per submission is a good one… good luck with the new venture gents

Thanks for the info Mike. I like Danny’s posts and think he has a good feel for the industry. I will create an account. What protection does a seller have with regards to escrow Mike ? Example if someone buys a domain for $10,000 using a credit card, gets the name and the seller gets paid. After a couple weeks they find out credit card was bad or stolen, do they get money back from the seller and the seller out the name ? Thank you

Always good with new sales and purchase channels. But I, too, worry a bit about about the unlimited credit card use.

the color scheme is horrible, but only having a select inventory is a nice feature and allows for easy navigation in and out

The site allows sellers to upload screen-shot images of their domains’ site. so very good

Surely they could have chosen a better domain. Also the design looks straight out of the 1990’s!

Matt – very well said. Its nice to see members of the community extend into development but designs like this only show how far behind domainers are when it comes to development.
Anyone with an honest opinion should say the exact comments you made.
Give howard credit for getting the ball rolling but best advice I can give is to fire your web design team and start anew.
Obviously I wish Howard well.

Open Domain Market says
My question is what do these domain listing services do to promote the domains listed with them to earn a 10% commission? Do they advertise the domains listed?
It is my best bet to say, they are the blood suckers of the poor start-up Domainers. We domainers got to list the domain with them and promote it by our self and pay 10% on the domain sale price?
I think we domainers should seriously rethink how we are going to reach out the end-users.
With this in mind, I have launched sigma Names, the net’s first Open Domain Market, where domainers can list their domains for free. The premium domains will be furthered on the front page for FREE. Google ads for the site will be running soon to promote sigma Names. The buyer (End user) will communicate directly with Domain Owners. sigma Names do not charge any fee or commission because it is the OPEN DOMAIN MARKET.
So why don’t you guys list your domain with sigma Names? Need more information? get in touch with me.

Good comments. We are adding a provision to pay by wire transfer. Also all transactions in excess of $5,000 paid by credit card, will be held in escrow for 72 hours to ward against unauthorized use of and/or stolen cards. The Seller is protected.
