Microsoft announced today that its search engine, Bing.com has signed deals with both Twitter and Facebook to bring real-time status updates and tweets into search results.
Although this has been rumored for a while to Google as well, Microsoft is the only one with a deal.
The deal however it not exclusive and its expected that Google will join the party.
According to allthingsd.com, “neither of the services is expected to be up and running for weeks, if not months.”
In 2007, Microsoft invested $240 million in exchange for a 1.6% stake in Facebook.

And Twitter, looks like it, is making money..
“Mayer would not disclose the financial terms of the deal, but she did say they were financial terms”

Microblogging.com reports that Google has a deal too. Why they would bring someone off their page to see ads from someone else I don’t know. But that’s what CNN is doing with Twitter (once the audience forms habits and the ads kick in). That’s why Sanchez will be an enlightening addition to Traffic this year. This is all impacting our revenue and that’s how it impacts domains.

These deals all relate to the emerging field of Sentiment Analysis: based on which GOOG and MSFT realize that there’s a ton of money to be made in numerous segments (e.g., political campaigns, trading, brand management) through the sale of tools, data, analysis and insights. Like many other domains, I’ve made plenty of bad investments in my life, including buying tons of worthless domains (primarily in the “law” space); but my huge portfolio in the ‘sentiment analysis’ area is something that I’m confident will pay-off.
