what is really impressive in the Apple numbers is the GIANT amount of CASH available in the company’s “pockets” that was over $25 billion last year and will probably reach $30 billion (or more) for the end of 2009 !!!
with so much money, Apple could buy and/or do virtually everything in the IT market!

Absolutely, but the long term question for Apple for me is how is Windows 7 going to work.
My opinion is a lot of Apple’s new business is directly related to the failure of Vista.
My switch over to Apple certainly was.
If Windows 7 actually works a lot of the bleed over might stop.

nearly all Apple users buy the “machines” not the OS and they will continue to do that also the day MS will release “Windows 10”
.
MHB says
I don’t think you can separate out the machine from the software.

a computer is a computer… 99.99% of things we do with a PC can be done with a Mac (and the inverse) so, the reasons why the (high priced) Apple sell well isn’t the OSX (or, not only the OSX) but the design, innovations, look, glamour, status symbol of the Apple products
if Apple will never leave this products’ policy, its computers will always sell very much, no matter how good the MS Windows will become
