The domain, iLoveyou.com is apparently for sale.
If you have interest and some extra cash laying around you can grab it for the asking price of just $38 million.
Yes its certainly a nice name and would be a great addition to any portifillio.
How do I know the domain is for sale for $38 million?
Just check out the site.

Actually, I’d gladly pay him his price . . . if he’ll sell on my terms:
$1 down + $1/year for 38 million years.
With all PPC to me until paid off.

I posted about on this on namepros a few weeks ago – http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/596554-iloveyou-com-guess-the-asking-price.html
I actually spoke with the owner to see if he was really expecting this price and if he was willing to lower the price and he has said that he would look at proposals.

I still remember the day in 1997 when I found iloveu.com available for registration but passed on it because $100 (for 2 years) was a lot of money to me at the time, and I wasn’t even a domainer yet. I know it’s not exactly iloveyou.com, but still it’s a decent domain that’s definitely worth a lot more than $100 today. Like you, Michael, it’s the deals that I passed that I always regret the most…

It’s funny you mention this. I have actually been working on this domain, and this guy doesn’t want to budge. What is going on is I have a client who is a real buyer that I am consulting for that wants me to get ILoveYou and IHeartYou related domains. If anyone reading this has one (.com only) please contact me. There is a contact-us form on our site.

The question is this : If you buy ILoveYou.com for $38Million, please what will be your return in the next 2 years. Considering that there are a lot of dating, social networking sites out there that are struggling.
If you have got that kind of money you will like to invest, why can’t you seek for better ideas than just one domain name that might not produce a return of Investment (ROI)

I’ve got: HaveILovedYou.com and AmILovingYou.com
cm-domains says
38M? I guess it must be $500-$1000.
@rmholy Are they for sale?
IrishDomainer says
Heya, I have ILoveYouFlowers.com & LoveYouFlowers.com .. both open to offers. 😉

To the poster FT : What you said happens everyday. You need not restrict that sentiment to 1998.

Great pick-up Mike! I hope he loves this domain big time, cuz at this price he’ll be cuddling up with it for at least the rest of his life.

And if you do buy the domain for the asking price,
she (the owner) really will love you. 🙂

Roy, according to NetSol’s WhoIs where the domain is regged,
the owner is a She.

Surprisingly, I think, is that WhoIs shows the domain registration
under current ownership as only September 2007.
I wonder what happened before that.

Check it out on domaintools.com

“Check it out on domaintools.com”
Thanks MHB.
I don’t have a paid membership at Domain Tools so cannot follow the registration progression.
Since the current registration is Sept 2007, obviously the domain was
allowed to expire back then.
I just found that surprising, don’t you?

Sorry- This is OT but perhaps educational to some:
Patrick: NetSol is still about the only ‘registrar’ around, who (to my knowledge) _always_ sets the “creation date” to the date they (NSI) had it transferred to them. (So Joe could have registered it for $nothing$ back in 1994 through NetSol- like there was a choice? Held it all these years… and then transferred it to Helen just last Christmas. If poor Helen had it transferred to her account at NetSol, the “creation date” would show 12-25-08. (One obvious downside, without some digging on say DomainTools- maybe, would be if a UDRP action was brought by some silly fart who got a TM on the same name in say 6-15-99. The obvious and blatant true_ creation date should scare most reverse hijackers off. Tough to show “Bad Faith” if registrant got domain 5-6 years prior to any mark.)
All reputable registrars I ever dealt with invariably maintain the _original_ creation date, no matter _who_ the original registrant was. (Anyone who thinks they know better- please jump in and correct me, but I’ve been at this for a while…)
Another fine reason (like we need more?) to stay way away from NetSol.
