Namejet.com announced on its site today that it would be hosting an auction on 15, premium, registry owned .me domains stating on June 5th.
Unlike all NameJet,com auctions to date, some or all of these domain will have a reserve price (although you can still “backorder” them for $69) and the “Reserve amounts will be published at auction start”
As a side note, with some “owned domains” having been recently auctioned off on NameJet.com like toxic.com and trumpet.com, and with the added feature of reserve pricing, will NameJet.com open up its auction platform to a broad range of domain sellers?
I think its coming.
As for this .me auction, domains have to be ordered by the backorder date and the auction closes on the auction close date and all are available to be backordered now here:

LOL -> Trust.me
The famous last words you hear just before getting royally screwed. 🙂
From the list, I think “Teach” and “Publish” could have solid business uses. Sort of fit the extension.

An update the non-expiring domains auctioned off at namejet. I called and tried to talk them into auctioning off one of my names. They said no of course. I asked them about some of the obvious non-expiring names we’ve all seen go on namejet (I bought a few of them), and their answer was that they will also auction off registrar owned domains if the registrar got the names through some sort of violoation like invalid whois, and so forth. So watch out if your domains are registered at a namejet registrar, they are just waiting for you to screw up so they can auction off your name. Another weird thing, I won a name there recently and it only had 1 month left before renewal. I thought these things came with a renewal automatically, but then again I don’t think the name I won was expired.
