eNom, announced today the renewal of their Domain Name Services Agreement with VeriSign, under which eNom serves as the registrar for premium .tv domain names.
According to VeriSign, .tv domains have experienced annual growth of over 60 percent and a doubling of new .tv domain name registrations.
More than 7,000 premium .tv names are currently registered—a 40 percent increase in premium .tv sales this past year.
“We are very excited about extending our relationship with VeriSign on .tv. We are generating a lot of momentum around branding .tv as the destination site for rich media,” said Chris Sheridan, vice president of sales for eNom. “With VeriSign’s continued branding efforts, our eNom Resellers should be well positioned to participate in the continued positive growth of this popular extension.”
“VeriSign has long believed that .tv is a global brand which everyone understands to mean television and video on the web,” said Jill McNabb, director of naming services at VeriSign. “eNom and its parent company, Demand Media, have been crucial in building the .tv brand by sharing their channel sales and social media expertise to help us communicate this message with its family of resellers and the general consumer marketplace.”

.Tv domain name ext will be a BIG Hit in the next 1-2 years as many more so called traditional Tv Stations will broadcast World Wide Online.

Gee: And I’ll bet Chris was just as excited about enoms’ virtually instant roll-over capitulation to Kentucky’s illegal grab of others domains.
Of course, we didn’t see any of their PR B.S. about that move, did we.
ps: .TV = .mobi = .travel = .newtlds = D.O.A. & R.I.P.

# 1. Your site looks like it was one of the original sites of the world wide web.
# 2. Although you have some good domains, I didn’t see anything worth writing home over.
#3. For you to say .TV is DOA and RIP, is LOL comedy–but even more funny, you place .TV in the same sentence as .travel and other “new tlds”.
#4. You’ve been working on the 719 pages of “salesmanship” per domain on your site for the past decade and must have missed the news a few times. DOT TV isn’t going anywhere, sorry, too many eggs in one basket will get you every time.
#5. The entree–before the humble pie will be enjoying the following “rich media/video related sites” listed below.
(Just a few that I follow, I actually have to image if you say you don’t follow some of these as well–you’d be lying). It’s everywhere. In every city, every state, every country, every continent. Content delivery and consumer/viewer expectations will NEVER be the same, EVER.
“TV” is “TV”, and it’s safe to say you and I will be LONG removed from this earth before “TV” and “DOT TV” are gone. Wake up. Fix your site. Watch TV online. Throw away your pager, the cassette player, and the black and white 19″ in your living room. DOT TV, media, re-invented. Thanks.
