Certainly off the topic of domains, but when I see something in the financial world, I have never seen before I have to report it.
Today Deutsche Bank analyst Rod Lache issued a new price target on shares of GM.
His new “target price” for GM shares: zero.
“Even if GM succeeds in averting a bankruptcy, we believe that the company’s future path is likely to be bankruptcy-like.
Shares of GM closed at $3.36 down $1 or 23%.

Interesting post – GM should focus on creating environment friendly GREEN cars and that would give the Company the edge in selling cars that are friendly to the Planet and to the consumer pocket (save money).

Must be said as well that unions have crippled a number of American companies. It’s a natural progression of the free market economy. Globalization pure and simple. Manufacturing costs overseas are tremendously cheaper. And when unions squeeze the last drop of lifeblood out of a company’s profit margin, then companies will go elsewhere as clearly evidenced by the past 10 year offshore shift. Also should say that the massive CEO salaries (in lieu of failing company performance) point to another inherent wrong. American appetite seems to have no limit. “Live within your means” needs to become the new national motto.

I think GM should do an overnight switch and start manufacturing robots. I could use a “BigDog” or two for a start if they were reasonably priced. Start doing what Buckminster Fuller wanted and make homes the same way they make cars – only make them robot assisted homes.
The minute I saw the “BigDog” video (BostonDynamics.com) I knew that we are into the age of robotics – now all that is needed is for some huge company to get me all the servant-bots that I need. I’ll want a few gardener-bots to grow my food and so on – I never got the flying car but it isn’t too late for the easy-living robot-owner lifestyle to be mine.
GM could “drive” the changeover into the new robot world. Really, for all the advances in automotive tech the last 50 years we would all be better off and not all that far behind if we’d just given everyone a 1960’s Fiat 850.
I’d like to see GM actually show some initiative and get out of the auto business and start trying to do something to improve lives on a massive scale. Who cares if the new Chevrolet is 1 decibel quieter and has a better DVD player than last years model? Who does it really help?
Better off embracing change and doing something to help humanity like making all of our lives effort-free with robots. I don’t want to go to the store, I want my delivery bot to bring me what I want and if I want some landscaping done my robots should do it for me while I sleep.
I figure GM must have enough resources to compete with anyone in the robotics world – all their recent technology experiences will be wasted if they just shut down. Work it in with “Green” – use robots to eliminate the personal automobile and then show Toyota/Volvo/Honda/etc who the losers really are.
