Cold.com will be auctioned in late November with a minimum acceptable bid of US$1 million, announced Patent Kinetics, LLC, an intellectual property strategy, evaluation, and brokerage company.
“We anticipate exceptionally strong interest in Cold.com,” said Bob Weber, Managing Director, Patent Kinetics, LLC. “Marketing, advertising, brand management, public relations professionals, and other executives should carefully evaluate how the unique Cold.com domain name and web presence could figure prominently in their efforts to extend brand equity by leveraging consumers’ brand and product associations with the word ‘cold’.”

Sealed bids must be received no later than 5 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, Friday, November 14, 2008. The minimum acceptable bid is US$1 million. The sale to the highest bidder is expected to close in early December.

I personally think the domain is overpriced at $1M.
I Think its a domain that would sell between $100K-$300K at a live Moniker TRAFFIC auction.
Of course I hope they sell it for $5M as it will only help all domain valuation if such a lofty goal can be achieved.

Great if it goes 1+mill, but not likely to happen. No domainer’d pay it.
If they’re smart, they’re calling the pharma/drug cos on this one.

I would love to see it sell for $5m too. That would give me a great platform to sell coldest.com for a decent sum.
Cold.com is a superb name though. It can be used to market cold/flu medcine, winter clothing, heating equipment, freezers etc.
It is also a LLLL.com. Remember, Blue.com sold for $500k.
It may be bad timing to relase such a great domain name for sale, but let’s see what happens.
