    Estimating Groping.com at $130k and Men.net at $35k ? Beef.net at $4,200 ? Surely some mistake.

Esitbot is an automated system and should be taken in that light.

This is to say it is far from perfect but is interesting.

Case and point appraisals are useless/baseless and worthless. No online system, auction house, parking company and person can fairly evaluate digital real estate, not now or in the future for that matter. Know your market, have a vision and pay what you think is fair value, that’s it folks.

Estibot makes quite accurate appraisals for some domains but use to overprice plenty of average domains.

I think it’s interesting that so many domainers refer to Estibot as “IdiotBot” and such, and yet it’s so popular with many ppl (including domainers, although many of them may be new and quickly learn their own methods to value domains). I don’t consider the automatic appraisal itself as an idiot, only those who would blindly follow a GIGO automaton. Personally, I always like watching how Estibot does in a match and it’s kinda like rooting for the underdog.

BTW I find dnscoop more accurate. But since Textlinkads calculator doesn’t work, appraisals for PR domains are very low.

Thanks Damir, by the way I enjoy reading your straightforward blog posts, not too long ago, you were inquiring about purchasing a laptop, I would recommend Apple.

No automatic system in the world will be able to get a true value. Zillow.com does it for realestate but it is far off in many areas. Domain names are different you never know who will buy what and for what reason.
estibot would probably value mycellphone.mobi for 10 bucks, but I sold it for $15,000 along with mymail.mobi prior to that for $15,500, and another one for 5 figures. The point is it does not matter what other people think your domain is worth, if you create a story and find one particular end user that likes your pitch or story then that is all you need.
