Having been in New York, all week, though this very shaky stock market, I can report that life goes on in New York.
The kids are still playing in central park.
The Dogs are still sniffing each other’s butts.
The Met’s still look like they are going to fold again in September.
On Wednesday the day of the second 400+ drop in the Dow this week, Gordon Ramsey restaurant at the London Hotel was completely booked unless you wanted to eat at 5:00 pm.
I used my Black Card and got into Jean George at the Trump on Central Park and found all the other tables full at $145 per person, plus wine, which seemed to be consumed, 2 bottles to a table.
On Thursday, I had dinner at Del Frisco’s Steak House on 49th street right across from Lehman Brothers. Del Frisco’s is a very large steak house where the red wine flows and steaks run $40-$70 per. The restaurant spreads over 2 floors and almost all the tables were filled. We had to ask how business had been this week, and the waitress told me she was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant saw no drop off in business and the only change she saw was that “people were drinking more”.
She was right, the bar was busy.
The Broadway show “In The Heights” the Tony award winner for best musical, had only 2 empty seats.
There were plenty of people having after show drinks and Times Square was still crowded still at 1:30am.
Yes life goes on in New York.
For those coming to TRAFFIC, welcome to New York.

New York really is the city that never sleeps take advantage of it!!!
While Real Estate is down Nationwide Manhattan Real Estate is stronger than ever! While you are in New York take a twilight cruise on the NY Waterway or circle line http://www.circleline42.com Look at the ever changing city skyline from the top of Rockefeller center http://www.topoftherocknyc.com
Do you think Donald Trump is going to stop building in this city?
Broadway Shows are still selling out almost every night! Make sure you see one as there is nothing quite as exciting a live Broadway Show!
The Yankees and The Mets are just finishing construction on 2 brand new stadiums
If you come in early for the TRAFFIC show treat yourself to tickets as this is the last time they will play in the house that RUTH built. If you need tickets to a game let me know!
Finally, don’t forget to enjoy yourself at TRAFFIC where many, many names will undobtedly sell for record prices in a market where we only have one way to go…UP
New Yorkers are resilient We don’t allow speed bumps to slow us down, hope you can all keep up…

Reports from Gulfstream and Dassault Falcon show that jet sales are good; even better than last year.
And the new Gulfstream G650 has more orders than they will be able to produce…they will not be able to build them fast enough!

How much is the G650?
Ray Neu says
Numbers are not exact yet, but they are set to be in the neighborhood of 60 Million…roughly 10 million more than its “little brother” the G550.

Have a great time. I’m jealous. My old stomping grounds and a great time of year to be there. Don’t know if its too late for the village art festival- but you can always take home something from there that will be worth 100x more in a few years.
