The Department of Justice has been looking at the proposed Google-Yahoo deal for a couple of months.
There have been congressional hearings, testimony and lobbying on the issue.
Now its your turn.
You know what is at stake.
Yahoo outsourcing its PPC advertising in large part to Google.
If allowed, Google will have a 90% market share of PPC advertising business
Advertisers and publishers will be left with only one provider, and will be at the mercy of that one provider, Google.
It would not only give Google a virtual monopoly in the search/contextual ad business now, but due to the brutally high estimated costs of any company wanting to challenge Google, this deal would give Google a virtually permanent monopoly.
What will future revenue shares be as contracts come up for renewal if Google is the only game in town?
You think parking companies are going to continue to get 70% rev shares or higher.
I think not.
Google will give these companies what ever Google wants and if they don’t like it then they can take their business to….well I guess no one, since they will be the only PPC company.
We have already seen over the last year, Google’s revenues continuing to climb and our share continuing to decline.
Will it get better if the only competitor of Google, Yahoo is allowed to outsource its PPC traffic to Google?
This is the same Google which released its new browser this week that is taking dead aim at direct navigation traffic.
Can we make a difference?
Who knows.
But as always you’ll sleep better knowing you tried.
The Department of Justice will conclude its review of the proposed deal in the next two weeks and issue its decision by October 1st.

Thanks for the info.
Yeah google is getting to big – the Company SHOULD be broken down in smaller INDIPENDENT entity’s and each of them should compete with each other.
This google – yahoo deal is creating an online monopoly which is for sure not in the interest of many individuals and Businesses worldwide.
New businesses entering the PPC online market will not be able to compete with this two FREAKS (google and yahoo) or if they do become successful they will be bought out by google (google has done this many times in the past just to shut down the competition).
