Just for the sake of comparison, tabloid.org just ended at Snap today for $1,150. Compare that to Scoop.me for $1,125.

A little more than 100 names selling for over $100? That’s it?
I’m sure every speculator who bought a .me feels great about their new .me domain and that’s great.
I hope they get developed. I said this when .mobi came out (I have .mobi domains, I like .mobi and I am cash positive on .mobi)… if no one develops on the extension then it will fail.
If all of the above were bought to compliment a portfolio or bought for price appreciation, .me will be a big loser because everybody is in.
In order for .me (or any new extension) to go up in value, value must be created meaning unique, recurring and interesting content.
If visitors to a .me domain have little reason to come back for a second visit, there is no value.
So, congrats to all the new owners, I hope I see some developed .me domains out there soon.
Well hey; if nothing else, these and the .me auctions/ sales yet to come should provide some price/ value guidance for whoever ends up launching .you…unless such launch occurs during an “onslaught” of other vanity extensions.
