A Chinese investment fund manager won a lunch with billionaire Warren Buffett by bidding $2.1 million in the most expensive charity auction ever held on eBay.
Zhao Danyang of the Hong Kong-based Pureheart China Growth Investment Fund won the auction, which ended Friday evening with a bid of $2,110,100.
Buffett has been auctioning off lunches online for six years but began auctioning the lunches for Glide off-line in 2000. He offers only one lunch a year.
Last year’s lunch brought in $650,100.

I think its a pretty cheap price to pay, Obviously he bid not just for the lunch, but to talk business. And surely Buffett might invest in his company for millions and millions. By then Zhao Danyang would had recover his investment.
Very brilliant business plan there.

Kudos to Zhao Danynag.

Guess he could have gotten it last year much cheaper
Scott Kozlowski ("Koz") says
As a big Buffett fan I think the chances of an investment in Danyang’s co is slim.
Although, if Zhao can run the numbers on a napkin and wants to sell it outright, stay on as CEO and the IRR is big enough Buffett might just by his company.
