Sedo has on their site an announcement about changes to their parking system:
“”””””””” New Domain Parking Requirements
Sedo is implementing a few new changes to our parked domains network that will be rolled out starting this week. One of these industry-wide changes is the implementation of organic search results on parked domains.
Organic searches will appear at the end of a search results page that is generated when visitors click on a related link or enter a search term.
These unpaid links should improve the user experience and the relevancy of the content.
Another change required of our advertising partner, is that visitor clicks on your parked domains will now open the target page in the same window.
Both of these changes will be rolled out globally and users may see variations in CTR.
However, with the new Auto Layout Rotation tool improving CTR at 11% on average, this should counteract any negative effects. We are also working on several new parking features which will be rolled out in the coming months to improve your parking experience with Sedo.”””””””
This of course is a move being required by Google.
Placing non-paid ads results on the same page as paid results, is actually one of the items which we said was long rumored to be on Google’s radar and made the deal with Yahoo very bad for domainers.
Placing non-paying links on parking pages, will reduce parking revenues.
We can only assume that DomainSponsor, another Google partner, will have to include non-paid results as well.
Once again we need as an industry to do whatever we can to keep Yahoo independant of Google.
Having only Google as the only choice for domain parking, will lead to continued rules and restrictions and reduced revenue for parking companies and domainers.

As far as I know Fabulous and Domain Sponsor have had these unpaid links for quite a while now, click a category link on either of their parked pages and you will see the same thing that Sedo has just implemented, Domain Sponsor lists them as “WebSearch Results” and Fabulous lists them as “Other Results” both located at the bottom of the parked pages after clicking a category link, If this is a Google forced rule then I expect NameDrive will need to follow as well eventually, Domainers would need to boycott Domain Sponsor, Fabulous and Sedo to send a signal that free links are unacceptable and stick with Yahoo based feeds like Parked and TrafficZ, If Yahoo vanishes then all Google & Yahoo parking companies with have these free ads on them, I would talk more about this but I gotta go purchase some expressway billboards and let advertisers place their ads on them for free which is basically what Google is forcing here, we can bitch about things but I doubt Google cares or we can unite and send our traffic to a Yahoo feed and try to send the message that free ads are unacceptable as the last I checked domain prices continue to increase.

Mike, Jay’s correct; Fab, who I use, instituted this last year (don’t recall the exact month).
Great folks and company to work with…
…free, no-income-to-me listings on my names…not so good.
