So they are auctioning off domains owned by them? It looks like most are.

My understanding is during that the first week they are auctioning off their own domains to seed the auction.
After this they will be auctioning off domains owned by third parties.
If they accept a domain owned by a third party to be auctioned off in the bido system they will guarantee a price certain, so if the auction does not reach the guaranteed amount , Bido will reach in their own pocket to pay the difference, between the winning bid and the amount guaranteed to the domain owner.
All auctions will start at $1, even those owned by third parties.

Mike,
While I think the idea behind BIDO is great, I don’t see from a liquidity standpoint how 350 name sales/yr is going to make a dent in this issue. Maybe, I missed it and they are going to expand these sales numbers after they find out what the demand is. Otherwise, if successful, the market could stand to have IMO upwards of 5 BIDO type marketplaces if they all used the same current one domain auction a day model.
The last T.R.A.F.F.I.C./Moniker auction yielded approx. 329 names sold with 162 over $1000.00
Rick Latona, yesterday, posted sales for the last 5-6 months of approx. 95 domains and said that’s only half the list. That puts him on pace to sell 400+ names this year.
Demand seems to be there. Liquidity is an issue. This is a step in the right direction.
