     Buyers have often invested time and or money into developing a brand or idea, therefore the seller may be getting a chunk of that in addition to the domain value.

     Unlikely that anyone else would pay more than $2k, but there’s nothing buyer can do to force seller to let the market set a fair price, so he just has to suck it up.

       I guess,..but I have a hard time understanding why the negotiation didnt end at something more reasonable like 10k. Cannot imagine Berkens would not take what is still a silly amount for a poor name. There is clearly more going on here with this sale than just FMV being attained. No obligation to hear the back story…but there has to be one here. 2 + 2 = 4

   @Matt, I’d like to hear the negotiation story too, but sometimes it does come down to a brandable name that the buyer has to have to build his/her business on.

   How much would stubhub, youtube, tirerack and similar names be worth before they were actual companies? People will pay dearly for the name they want that matches their idea.

   On the flip side, look at freshnote d0t com in the above list. It sold waaaaay under what I would have sold it for. Very brandale. That name could easily go for $10k….15k…$20k ++ even, to the right buyer.

   The sale price was negotiated, I think Mike has shown time and time again he gets a lot more than most. RookiePoker.com he sold for $20,000, NewYorkApartmentsforsale.com $42,000. You can get ridiculous amounts if you keep saying pass to lower amounts simply because you can.afford to do that.
