We have chatted earlier this week about the new domain names registered in two of the 5 new gTLD’s going live today, .Fund and .Investments and thought we would let you know what domain names were not going to be available when General Registration opens today for .Cash and .Tax.
We think .Tax is going to be the weakest of the 4 new Donuts extensions launching today.
Although its the cheapest of the four new gTLD’s extension in terms of registration prices, we think the application for .tax is pretty narrow, there is a lot of vertical competition coming in terms of .accountant and .cpa to name a couple, it’s a word that often goes on the left side not the right side of a phrase, like tax return, tax refund, tax refunds, tax preparers, and tax forms.
Finally lets face it, a lot of the natural and best domains are going to be N/A like flat.tax, income.tax, property.tax, corporate.tax and 1040.tax and lets face it Tax is a negative word, something we all hate to pay, we hate doing our taxes, filing taxes, and most of us don’t even like to think about taxes.
.Cash is another one of those words more commonly used in our opinion on the left side of a phrase than the right side but I think it will do better than .Tax and we all love cash, but unfortunately that domain, love.cash is not going to be available as someone got a trademark on the term “Love” and then paid Donuts the registry for a DPML block to block any Donuts new gTLD using Love.
I guess although all you need is love, you need a trademark more.
If you have some cash you might want to register Virtual.Cash a nice name but carries a $930 registration and renewal fee at Enom.
Some of the natural .Cash domains are NA including Loan.cash, Make.cash, Big.cash, Bank.cash, Lend.cash, Johnny.Cash
