NameCheap.com has around 20% of all .Sexy and .Tattoo registrations.
Based on the last zone file update, .Sexy and .Tattoo has around 2,700 domain name registered.
NameCheap.com has registered 423 .sexy and 130 .Tattoo domain names as of the publication for a total of 553 domains or around 20% of the last zone update.
To be clear, the NameCheap.com numbers are as of publication while the total registrations for .Sexy and .Tattoo are as of the last Zone update.
Anyway you slice it with over 40 domain name registrars carrying .Sexy and .Tattoo NameCheap.com is getting a substantial amount of the registrar market.

We’ve taken over 50 .sexy’s at DomainMonster. I feel great about it and very grateful to Frank, who not only put all of them on sale for just $20 but whom I bet would have liked to take a bunch himself but felt it would be inappropriate.

@on sale for just $20
You said it!……..much better than paying $99 bucks for .xxx and trying to flip it……..

Actually Frank might have taken some, I don’t know. But I started registering about 2-3 hours after they became available and a lot of great ones were unregistered.

Frank reserved a lot of domains

Hi Guys, Many of the best names are on ICANN hold (fast track to delegation APD lists) .SEXY had considerably more than say plumbing or ventures.
We have a few thousand premium names many of which will be released in the future, to all registrars at the same time, at reg price.
Ultimately this is a marathon and we are just now at the point where the starters pistol popped. I think we did an excellent job given that we had technical issues, Godaddy, Network Solutions and 1and1, Tucows and 8 of the top-ten rars are not carrying our products at this launch-day. I believe our namespaces will wind up being some of the most successful and we hope to win over the registrars who failed to sign-up with us soon.
In the future, only registrars who carry everything are going to be viable, the rest will marginalize themselves. eNom.com Name.com and NameCheap have been the smartest about this process so far and we will emulate them and grow our business to be as successful.
Our team is ready for the next years of work and excited to serve you all.
Heartfelt apologies for any glitches and hiccups during our inaugural roll-out.

“In the future, only registrars who carry everything are going to be viable” my point exactly by creating GTLD mall. Have developed a highly successful search registration business on the concept of providing consumers convenience selection (key to success) and ease of use.
Trying to get registries to buy into new one stop GTLD shop and registration outlet. Win win for consumers and registries and GTLD services providers IMO.
Interesting how GTLD registries tout new and different and choices as their reason for acting yet cling to old guard registrar outlets for help to promote? Lack of innovation in marketing by GTLD registries sending conflicting signals about their true commitment to innovation IMO

I would imagine that the on-board registries feel they’ve been sold a pup.
They’re the ones after all who have had to contend with the tech issues and now have to front-end customer service problems regarding the late change in pre-registration name availability.
