113 new gTLD applications passed ICANN Initial Evaluation (IE) today.
The winner of the day might be Uniregistry which had 12 applications pass IE today which had been previously passed over.
Today also saw the most number of previous passed over applications passing IE, by my count 28, thereby making 113 applications passing IE with only 100 new gTLD application being evaluated
Other notable new gTLD extensions passing IE today was the Geo domain .London, the .brand application by Microsoft for .Windows; the brand applications for .Sony, .Ferrari (yes I would like mike.Ferrari); .Samsung; and .Bloomberg
Other applications of note passing IE are two applications for .Broadway, and applications for .Sexy; .Makeup; .Latino.
Google passed IE, just in time for Fathers Day .Dad
After these results, applications with a prioritization number of up to 700 have been evaluated by ICANN with 632 being decided.
Here is the full list of domain names passing IE today that we have complied including those that had been previously passed over without a decision that passed today:

So the auction / deals relating to .store for example have been made ?
Michael Berkens says
Brian
Now that mean that one application for .store that was filed by TLDH passed Initial Evaluation, it doesn’t mean in any way that they got that extension.
However its a big hurdle and if you don’t pass IE you can’t go to auction
Also any uncontested strings, one which there is no other application that passes is much closer to going live
Like .London
BrianWick says
So this means you have been deemed ok to run a registry – and therefore you are qualified to bid ?
Michael Berkens says
Correct and your particular application met the requirements

Am very happy to see all the new Gtlds.
It means “innovation”, the smell of new money in the economy.
Like they say in Economics 101, let the market dictates the forces of demand and supply.

So .TVS will be created confusion with existing .TV
Michael Berkens says
Ray
It might but Verisign didn’t file an objection to .TVS on the basis of string confusion
Grim says
The real question isn’t whether .TVS will be confused with .TV… it’s whether .TVS will languish in obscurity, because no one cares.
Michael Berkens says
I think they are two separate points both a concern
