The ICM Registry in conjunction with the owner of the new site iFriends.XXX, put this billboard up in Times Square on Thursday for one day.
The billboard was across the street from the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square.
Many people thought that .XXX ads would not be accepted by mainstream media outlets but ICM seems determined to get .XXX into mainstream media and I think they put it up for a day just to show it could be done.
Except a lot more in the months ago

How appropriate-Just to welcome Irene….

We own all the iFriends Domains.www.ifnet.net, http://www.ifriends.com, and http://www.ifriends.xxx http://www.clickcash.com
UDRPtalk says
It appears that iFriends.xxx is just an alias of the already existing iFriends.com.
So the message seems to be that you need to own the corresponding .com as well.

a good marketing agency (and campaign) has helped very much the success of .CO, so, clearly, the .XXX-guys want to do the same things that have built the .CO success

When they sponsor the half-time show for the SuperBowl.NFL
and the US.FCC endorses ICANN that will be a cold day in dotNYC

@ Mike,
Since when is an electronic billboard in Times Square — for only a day, and during the slowest month of the year in advertising — considered “mainstream media”? No disrespect intended, but I am not sure this is a big victory.

Looks like at least THREE major movements with DNS.
1. Adult.Content – People who develop and sell filters, firewalls, Set.Top.Boxes will thrive
2. FREE – ICANN is not stupid. They certainly have to be aware of the nukes that can be launched (at any time now) to flood the market with FREE domains.
ICANN is now willing to sell off TLDs at $185,000 each to .COM owners.
3. The Big .COM BRANDS dominate with both their .COM and their TLD.
===
BEWARE !!! All of the above could result in the .COM Ghetto being dropped.
IF you do NOT pay the $185,000 for EACH of your .COMs and $25,000 per
year, ISPs could view you as Not.Serious, Not.Worth the Risk.
The obvious (edge) software solution is to promote ALL .COM owners to TLDs
for FREE. ICANN of course does not want that. Do consumers and ISPs want
that ? They will have the choice.

That is also GREAT – “People who develop and sell filters, firewalls, Set.Top.Boxes will thrive” 🙂
EACH .XXX “owner” will be paying over and over for Set.Top.Box transport
Don’t forget the .XXX Digital Currency (Money) Banking System promised by the ICANN.XXX Community
