Sedo.com just sold the The domain name Wellnessfinder.com for a whopping 150,000 Euro’s or around $210,000.
The domain is already going to a site with a trademark up on it for the term Wellness Finder.
The domain was owned by a company Wellnessfinder e.K. in Germany and the buyer is TOP International Hotels GmbH.
It would be interesting to know if the sale included the trademark.
In any event its a huge price for that domain name.
It also looks like the buyer of the .com owned the .de version of the domain so this could be a case of a domain upgrade.
Congrats to the Seller, buyer and Sedo
Nice domain sale! Congrats to the seller and sedo and good luck to the buyer.
good domain, right price
Wow, very nice!
Congrats
Interesting considering I was able to pick up WellnessCounselors.com for $69 off snapnames a year ago. This proves that the value of domains can be highly subjective and at times at the whim of individuals looking to purchase a domain for business use.
mainly, it proves once more the value of .com domains
I would love to hear how that negotiation went. It seems unfathomable to me that somebody could ask that much for that particular name, so the buyer must have made a pretty significant offer themselves.
The only way that price is achieved is…
1. The enduser starts off with a huge offer and thus shows their hand.
2.The seller is aware of the end user and always counters very high and holds their ground hoping its them and they want to play ball.
3. The seller is lucky and lightning hit.
Id hope it was #2.
this kind of sale would be very good for me and my projects
so, I hope to turn soon from “commenter” to “news” here!
@george: true. like most things having to do with computers, domains are grossly misunderstood. buyers routinely overpay, and buy on “whims”, whether they buy at $8, $69 or $250K. however, there’s a few major differences between “counselors” and “finder”. no doubt this buyer is aware of one or more of them. hope you can see at least the obvious difference. unless you manage to sell your domain name, unfortunately the congratulations goes to snapnames. good luck.
Pretty unspectacular domain.(imo) That has to be about also securing the trademark. I’d be happy to be wrong about that though.
another +1 for the king status of .com
though the site is for german market only the buyer appreciates the value of a .com and chooses it for the main gateway entry
the .net and .org were also sold to the same buyer. looks like a bulk sale.
not sure also if this counts as a domain sale only. it looks like more of a trademark purchase and/or company purchase.
I would say the buyer wants to go international. Only owning the .de keeps your business national. It was a must buy, no matter the price.
the price is high but the domain really deserves that price…congrats to buyers…
.in whois also changed to top international
