Mike Mann has announced sale of his 2nd .CO premium domain.
This time it was Cruise.Co which sold for $25k.
A couple of weeks ago Mann announced the sale of Flying.Co for $3,500.
Mike is certainly helping to set the resale market for .Co domains.

Great news for .CO investors!

Wow, I hope this trend continues. I have to admit, I wish I was able to make nearly $30,000 in less then a month with only selling 2 domains.
I guess I should sit on the few .CO domains that I do have for another month for the bar to be better established.
Has anyone seen any other sales of .CO (other then namejet)?

Yes, I also found a few other UK companies that are obtaining the .co of their name, for example:
Telegraph.co is owned by the news publisher Telegraph.co.uk (which they are building a website on).

Just seeing what you guys think about it.

It is not a surprise to me that top tier terms can find buyers in any reasonable extension.
These domains were taken long before open registration and do not mean anything IMO for the average quality of domains I have seen.

I wonder how many .mobi investors are back for more?

Lets pretend that I am a stupid person.
And yes, I have been known to be stupid from time to time. So lets get that comment out of the way.
Upfront, I own zero .CO extensions.
I failed to get the 3 that I pre-ordered but I still have interest in the extension.
What is the definition of top tier terms?
Looking at the stats between the terms that sold, can “Flying” be considered a top tier term?
“Property” has some pretty good search numbers, but “Cruise” falls in between “Flying” and “Property”.
Is there a certain search number that makes a top tier term?
Does the CPC have anything to do with top tier terms?
Are we saying that pretty much top tier terms are universal between all “reasonable extensions” and that one would expect them to sell for good sums of money regardless?
Is .CO considered a “reasonable extension” now?
When did the transition take place for .CO from failure of the likes of .ME and .MOBI to a “reasonable extension”?
Are we stating that good, solid, generic terms can make money with the .CO extension and not just the .COM extension?
Brad says
Flying.com sold for 1.1M. Property.com and Cruise.com would sell for far more if they went up for sale. Those are all top tier terms.
What makes them top tier terms is search volume, competition, potential commercial use, etc.
Even in a terrible extension a term like “Poker” still has good value.
If you are going to deal in secondary extensions it is only worth dealing in premium terms IMO. That is what sells. No end users are targeting mediocre keywords in alternate extensions.
I am not a big .ME fan and own 0, but is it really a failure like .MOBI.? There have been several solid .ME sales for premium keywords and domain hacks.

“co” is time tested. The abbreviation has been popular for a long, long time. Can’t say that about me and mobi, in terms of business. Essentially the more .co’s are registered, the higher the values will become. That is why .co has unceremoniously leaped over .me, already!
This is why some .co’s already command a pretty good price. Much of the success of .co can give thanks to co history.
